HTC Wants You to Control VR Using Your Brain

HTC might be bidding farewell to its mobile business soon, but the company seems to be hopeful about its virtual reality platform - Vive - and has invested $100 million in startups developing innovative VR technologies. Out of the many companies which HTC has funded, 3 startups are working on brain-controlled VR interfaces and it might transform the way we communicate and see the world around us.
"Neurable" is one of the two companies which is developing "non-invasive scanning methods" to deploy brain-controlled VR using Vive headsets. Meanwhile, "Configreality" is churning out algorithms to augment neural information with perception in a virtual reality, working on ways to reduce the physical distance traveled in order to walk in VR.
Another startup, "Looxid", is mapping emotional activity based on the brain's response to triggers in VR. This, the company believes, might help patients counter their phobias.
