Chinese e-commerce giant, Alibaba, has shattered all sales records as its recent Singles Day sale grossed over $25 billion in just 24 hours. The company sold $25.38 billion worth of goods during the sale period, a 39% growth over its previous year's sales of $18 billion.
Daniel Zhang, CEO Alibaba Group, said, "This year is the first time that the fest was held during the weekend, on a Saturday. We had consumers who shopped throughout the day right up till the last second of the festival".
The Singles Day festival boasted of promotions and offers from over 140,000 brands and 15 million product listings.
